Discover the rich history of Ancient Greece and explore the archeological sites on this one-day tour, starting from Athens. This tour begins with our first stop at Corinth Canal and Ancient Corinth, here we will see the famous temple of Apollo and the steps of Apostle Paul.
We continue towards Argolida and the next stop is the archaeological site of Mycenae. We will travel to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon, where one of the most brilliant cultures of Greek prehistory, the Mycenaean civilization, developed. We will see the Lions Gate, the monumental entrance of the palaces, the Cyclopean walls around the Acropolis, and the tholos tombs of Atreus and Clytemnestras, which are all must-see attractions for lovers of the ancient world.
We then come to the wonderful city of Nafplion, where we will explore this romantic old town, starting from The Land Gate, the only entrance of the Venetian city. We pass by the point where Kapodistrias was murdered, the first ruler of Greece and we will end up at Syntagma Square, where Venetian and neoclassical buildings dominate around. We will then climb to Acronafplia, the Acropolis of Nafplion and enjoy the unique panoramic view.
If you wish we can also visit Palamidi, which is one of the most important achievements of the Venetian fortification architecture.
In Nafplion, we will also have free time to rest and enjoy something to eat.
The tour ends with your return to Athens.
