The caves are located in a cove on the west coast of Mani Peninsula, where they began to form hundreds of thousands of years ago. The natural entrance of the cave is only halfa meter in diameter and is very close to sea level. The route for visitors is 1.500 meters long, of which the first 1.200 meters is by boat on the subterranean lake. You will be given a life vest and your guide will use poles to journey through the caverns and tunnels. Fossilized bones of wild animals and ceramics, indicating human habitation have been found in the caves.
