Overview

This is a fascinating and very informative tour. You will learn all about the Greek olive oil culture.

After picking you up from your hotel, you will drive 20kms outside the town of Kalamata, to a unique location. The Castle of Androus is a medieval building of the 13th century, built on a small hill that oversees the entire plain of the area.

Your tour starts with a treasure hunt olive game. A relaxing walk inside the castle with breathtaking views of the endless Messinian Olive valley. You will visit a traditional Olive Mill and then a modern one. This way you will see step by step how the culture of olive oil production evolved over the centuries.

Information, tips and a revealing olive oil tasting by a certified olive oil taster will follow. This unique experience will be accompanied by a light meal of traditional olive oil based dishes.

Your tour ends with your return to your hotel, after a day full of taste, history and culture.

Food Pairing & Mezedes (15 min)

Olive oil & food pairing with at least 4 different taste combinations. Traditional mezedes: lalagia, pasto, Kalamata olives, tzatziki, feta cheese, olive paste, wine.
